Before beginning the day, I thought I'd put an outfit together for you guys! I'm having quite a large amount of writers block right now, because I only decided to write about this at 2 o'clock in the morning...so I do apologize! Enjoy thought! :)
I really don't know why I didn't get instagram sooner? I just didn't think much of it....but one night when out with some buds, I decided it was time I downloaded it. So check it ouuuutt! Follow if you'd like! I'll also put a link to it on the tabs bar at the top of my blog. I'd love to check yours out as well! Leave me your username in the comments :)
WOAH! I'm terribly sorry I haven't posted in days! It's just been a little hectic. I'm all finished with school! Which is very scary, but also quite exciting! I'm back in Ottawa, and within the next couple of weeks will be heading to Toronto to move out. Anyway, this outfit isn't very exciting...I do apologize for that! I promise I'll have more stuff coming up! I must try to be less lazy.
I've decided that this summer (and beyond, if all works well) I will be making LOTS of DIYs. I'm not really the type to make things from scratch, but I like altering and added stuff to already made garments. If all goes well, and you guys like what I make, I'll even sell them! With a price range of about $20-$40. So this is my plan...because I've got plenty of ideas of what I want to do, I will make sort of samples. I'll post them on my blog, and if I get good feedback from them, I'll sell 'em! I'll start up another blog for the stuff I'll have for sale.
I'm thinking mostly tops, as well as some jewellery, but I'm definitely keen to try as many things!
Just as I was about to start this post, the fire alarm in our building went off! And I kind of lost my flow...so let's try this again! I've decided (after my brother's suggesting) to make a post for the men! I thought I'd make a sort of compilation of essential items for spring/summer (s/s 12 for all you fashion people). I'll also be showing you some examples of big no no's (not that weird hair removal device...whatever) Anyway, I hope I do an ok job at this! It's a first for me, and hopefully you guys will like my suggestions. If not...then I will be sure to never make a post like this again.
Spiced Up Button Ups
Now don't take this the wrong way! Spiced up button up does not mean that shirt of the far right. I mean...ya it can be a fun shirt if you style it properly (somehow?) but it's a shirt that you'll buy because you think it's funny, but then you'll stop wearing after two wears. It'll get old really quickly... So! Instead, get something like the first three on the side. Still simple enough, but with a little bit of extra umph to give it some edge. Yes, you have some nice shirts, but why don't you get one with a little extra something something?
Because we're still in spring, and not every day is warm, it's good to have a good jacket. I find that these colour blocked anoraks are perfect to add some style, but still says "I'm an outdoors kind of man". You know what I mean?
1. River Island Colour Block Jacket $113.15 - Asos
2. Blue Navy Lightweight Hoodie about $95.00 - Topman
When it gets hot outside, it's time for the men to show a little more skin. The best way to do so without being too revealing? Tank tops of course! Again, I like it when they're simple, but with a little more pizazz! The one of the far right though...please don't. You'll be doing yourself a favour by not spending money on something silly, and us a favour to not have to stare at it.
So how about we start with that? If the feedback I get from this is good, then maybe I'll do some more posts for you guys out there! Let me know what your favourite stores and sites to shop at are, and I'll definitely make sure to include some in future posts.
Now, I'd like to start off my apologizing. The quality of my photos on this post will not be the greatest. I am very sorry. The lighting in my room is terrible, and it's always a hit or miss. Anyway! Dress? Emilie? Wearing a dress? This is not something that happens often. Especially when it comes to casual day dresses. This is one of the things I got on my trip to New York! I am completely in love with this dress. It's got the perfect shape, and the perfect amount of detail (cut out in the back). Oh! And this is also the lipstick I got in NY. It's matte red, and it gives a completely different effect.
I know I said I'd make a sort of lookbook video of my clothes, but I forgot how crazy school was about to get. It's coming to an end! And there are a bunch of final assignments that need to be finished and handed it. So I will get to making that video eventually...I hope you can be patient!
Some new clothes! That I didn't show you in the video. I got from New York to realize that I did not get any pants, and I'm always in search of some pants. I'd heard lots of good things about the Disco Pants at American Apparel, and thought I'd try them out. They're incredibly cozy, and very versatile. You can easily dress them up, or dress them down.
I wanted to share with you my feature in Just Another Fashion Magazine! JAFM is an iPad app, but just like a magazine, it comes out with a new issue every month. There's really some great fashion inspiration, with lots of beautiful photography and fun reads. You can click here to head to their website, or here to download the app from the app store!
I wanted to share with you guys a few photos from my graduation trip to New York City! I was hoping to get some street style shots for you, but with the hustle and bustle of the big city, I was nervous to ask people. So many well dressed people though! I wish it was like that everywhere. Anyway, I had SUCH an amazing trip with my gals. Did lots of shopping, went to fabulous restaurants for dinner, and danced the night away! It will really be a trip that will forever be in my memory. I love you girlies! xo
I'll be making a video this week showing you the purchases I made! Lots of great new pieces to add to my wardrobe, hourray!
