[OUTFIT] Slouchy Monday

I got off work early this afternoon and thought I'd take some time to take some outfit shots. I've been so incredibly busy with work and school that the holidays are much appreciated. I got this Cheap Monday top in a few days ago from ASOS and I am absolutely in love with it. Extra long slouchy tops are my new favourite.

[ACCESSORIES] Winter Toques

The two toques I ordered from ASOS came in, and I cannot be more stoked about them! I got one that says 'Weirdo' by Lazy Oaf, and another knit one with a faux fur pompom. They are both unique and fun, and I really think they can jazz up a winter outfit.

Let me tell you my personal opinion about the whole 'beanie' and 'toque' discussion. I consider it that if one of these hats doesn't have a big pompom on it, then it's a beanie. When it does have a pompom, I consider it a toque...so there.

[BEAUTY] Urban Outfitter is Racking Up Beauty!

Being the women's accessories Team Leader at Urban Outfitters, and processing a lot of shipment, we have been receiving TONS of beauty products. I've tried some, smelled some, and own most of these. Most people don't know that we do carry these products, so I felt like sharing some.

I've  been very curious about the Per-Fekt brow fill, but haven't gotten around to purchasing it yet. It'll likely be my next by, so I'll keep you posted. The colours in the Stila palette are perfect neutrals for every day looks. The Rosemary Mint soap smells absolutely amazing! You almost want to take a bite out of it. I've been using the Cake Satin Sugar dry shampoo for quite some time now, it smells marvellous and it has a brown tint to it with is perfect for my hair colour. I absolutely love the combination of the gold with the purple glitter in this nail polish, but we haven't gotten it in yet, hopefully in the next few weeks!

[FASHION] Fall '13 Inspirations

It's already nearing the end of October, but we haven't had full on Autumn weather yet! Here's a look at what I'm looking forward to: big oversized knits, hats, scarves, and wool jackets.

[FASHION] Getting Cozy

First of all, we need to ignore the fact that these gals are wearing shorts, at least for where I'm living. I think the weather is finally levelling off at a cooler temperature so we now know for sure it's time to get cozy! There are tons of oversized knit styles out there, it was difficult to choose a few. We're seeing a lot of open cardigan concepts as well as slight V-neck sweaters. Here are some of my favourite styles, but be sure to scour for more!

[FASHION] Karen Walker Forever Spring '13

I'm sorry I only discovered these photos today, but I absolutely had to share. After releasing her first instalment of photos for her Spring '13 collection, including women from the age 65-92, she did an instalment with 3 to 5 year olds. I cannot get over how cute these photos are, and how sassy they all look!

[FASHON] Fall 2013 - Denim

For the past year or so I've had a huge love for denim/chambray anything. It's something that I personally usually see more in the Winter to Spring transition, and not so much in the Fall. Not this year though! Denim is bigger than ever, and people are getting more and more creative with it. Take a look at some of my favourite Fall denim looks and some Fall denim essentials.

Of course this season comes with cooler weather. Layering a denim jacket over a sweater or a clean button up will help keep you warm and keep you on trend. It seems to have been the summer of distressed shorts (at least for me it was) keep that distressed boyfriend jean look with some full jeans, changing it up from the usual skinny jean.

[OUTFIT] Subtly Paisley

I posted this look to LOOKBOOK a few days ago, but was in a big rush to get to work and didn't have time to post it here, so here it is! I'd been wanting to wear this dress for weeks, but it's been far too hot for it. We had a couple of days of cooler weather and thought I'd give it a go. It was still a little bit too hot out, but I managed. I got this dress when I was visiting my parents in Victoria. My mom and I were shopping around when I noticed this lone dress in the sale section of a beautiful boutique called Suasion. It happened to be my size, and as soon as I had it on I knew. It fit me perfectly and in all the right places. The fabric is a beautifully soft rayon with just the right amount of print. My mom then insisted on getting it for me, claiming that it fit too well. I'm really excited for the weather to get slightly cooler so I can wear this guy more!

[ACCESSORIES] Fall Boots & Booties

I seem to be pretty excited for Fall, but let it be known that it's the fashion I'm excited for! Not so much the cold weather...well maybe some cooler weather. All I know is that Fall turns into Winter, which I'm not most fond of.

Amongst the layering, sweater weather, and beanies, boots and booties are something I'm very excited about. Although I did end up wearing boots most of the summer, most shops are only getting their selection of boots now. There's so much variety of buckles, lace up, metal, and even colour this Fall, you really can't go wrong. Apart from the usual black and browns, we're finding a lot of taupe's and olive's which is a fun change. Take a look! And get your Fall strut on!

[OUTFIT] Plaid is Rad

If you follow me on Instagram, you might see that this summer I subconsciously decided that I would wear distressed shorts basically every day. I then decided hey! Maybe I can make some myself, should be easy enough. Turns out making shorts look distressed and worn is actually a very tedious task. I still have some work to do on them, but they're good enough for now.

[ACCESSORIES] Intergalocktic - Marc by Marc Jacobs

My new purse came in! And I absolutely needed to share with you. My old MbyMJ was 3 years old and the leather on the straps was ready to break. I'm still going to try to get it fixed, but until then I've got this new guy! At first I was thinking of getting the Rebecca Minkoff MAC clutch, but then discovered the Intergalocktic Ozzie Sia by Marc by Marc Jacobs and I totally loved it. I thought it was really different from other MbyMJ's and loved the sort of vintage look of it. I'm really happy I went with this one! I've been using it every day.

[OUTFIT] Fall is Coming

Guys! Fall is unfortunately upon us. Some people really do like fall! I only have some hate for it because it transitions into winter. Here I've got a couple of outfits that are perfect for the transition! Some small changes can do a big difference when it comes to keeping warm. Yes, I'm sure a lot of us wish summer could be here forever, but add a beanie to a dress or wear pants to help stay a little warmer as the days get slightly colder.

I absolutely ADORE this jumper! I haven't been able to wear it much yet because it's been too hot, but now that it's in the mid 20's I can totally sport it. It's the most comfortable yet elegant thing I've ever owned. Wide leg trousers and lovely detail on the bust, I will definitely be wearing this tons this fall...maybe with a few extra added layers.

I'd seen this dress on ASOS a while ago and was totally in love with it but it just stayed on my wishlist. But then! It went on sale! And I absolutely had to snag it! I'm sorry about the wrinkliness of it, but I had to share! In the look on the site, that gal was wearing a beanie with it, and I loved the combination. For fall, I'll probably style this with a beanie and some fun tights.

[FASHION] Fall 2013

I bought the August issue of Elle Canada on my way to visit my parents in Victoria, and they had a huge article on the trends for Fall 2013. I thought I would put together my on version of three of the trends that I'm particularly excited for.

Soft Velvet
Velvet did make a small appearance last fall, but nothing substantial. There seems to be more velvet popping up this time, and I could not be happier. I absolutely love the richness and texture of velvet. You can easily dress up or dress down any piece.

1. Maxi Skirt in Velvet - ASOS $24.22
2. Vintage Celine Velvet Blazer - Nasty Gal $228.00

Oversized Everything
By everything, I mean sweaters, jackets, dresses, etc etc. It's starting to get cooler, so having that room will help trap some heat to keep you warm. Plus it'll be in trend!

2. Loyal Chambray Anorak - Nasty Gal $72.00

Neon Beanies
Last fall and winter we saw the huge trend of beanies. Don't worry! It'll still be here, but with a twist. Fall usually means a lot of darker, but rich colours. Just add a pop of neon to brighten your outfit, and your mood.

1. Unisex Cuffed Beanie in Fluorescent Pink - American Apparel $20.00
3. Beanie with Patch - ASOS $14.35

[OUTFIT] Denim Eiffel

I had a moment to spare and thought I'd take a few photos of the dress my brother had gotten me for my birthday! I'm absolutely in love with it, and today is such a good day to wear it (it's not too freaking hot out)

[OUTFIT] Dead Inside

Well ladies and gents, am I back from my unannounced hiatus! I'd been very busy moving and working, I didn't have time for blog posts. But now! The sun is finally shining again, I'm mostly all moved in, and so I'm back! Be sure to stay tuned, because I've got a preeeeetty big giveaway coming up!

About the outfit: I'd seen this shirt on the UO website a while ago and was totally in love with it. Mostly for the skull printed sleeves. One day I decided to look it up again, and it was on sale! I could not miss out on this opportunity and ordered it right away. I'm totally in love with it! Again, mostly for the sleeves. I'm no emo child now...

[OUTFIT] Hippy Maxi

We'd had this dress for such a long time in store, but I always thought it looked very meh on the hanger. I'd stumbled upon it online and thought it looked really neat on the model. Luckily, it was on sale, plus it was a 50% off sale items weekend. It's really a completely different silhouette and look for me, but I'm really enjoying it......(note to self: get to the gyyyymmm!!!)
